Get Free Info from your Mobile - 1800-GOOG-411

WHY? Dialing 411 from a mobile phone can be expensive. Instead, let Google do it for you for free.

This is a handy tip I’ve used several times. When I’m out and need a phone number or wonder if there is a store nearby, my best option is usually to dial 411.

Not anymore. Google has made calling for information much better.

Just dial 1800-GOOG-411 (save it as a contact). It’s voice activated and so easy to use. Google will not just find your location for you, but will connect you to the store for free.

That’s good to know. I knew you could send a text message to a Google number and get information like that, but you get charged for the text (which, surprisingly, I don’t have in my wireless plan). Sounds like this might be a better option for me.

@Jim : the other day we were at lunch and wanted to find out if there was a particular mobile phone company nearby. While waiting, I called 1800-GOOG-411 and did a listing. Found out one was in the same plaza. After lunch we went there for the first time. Very convenient!
