Welcome
February 29th, 2008 | by Rob |One of my favorite authors, marketers, and thinkers is Seth Godin. Earlier this year he mentioned that there is a lack of what he called digital coaches.
Welcome to “a hundred and seventy spoons dot com”. My name is Rob and I’ve got a real funky concept. I’m going to be your digital coach.
Many of you are familiar enough with your computer and the internet to do things like check email, use Google, and create a spreadsheet. However, I’m convinced that many of you don’t know how to use your computer to be more effective in your every day life. My goal is to help you streamline your life by taking advantage of technology.
I know you have to be asking, “what’s with the spoons”? A spoon is a tool that you don’t always need to live your life well, but there are times that a spoon is the best tool for the job. I want to share with you as many of these “spoons” as possible — all with the goal to have more fun and enjoy technology.
“But what about 170,” I heard you ask. On the one hand it’s hyperbole for ‘a lot’. On the other hand, it’s how many spoons we bought at a garage sale one summer.
I’m not a “techie”. I’m not a “geek”. I’m not a “robot without emotions”. I’m here to help you with your problems so we can be free. I’m really a communicator and marketer. I care more about the big picture in how technology can help us connect to one another. I value authentic relationships.
I encourage you to join the conversation by leaving public comments. I’ve placed several tools here so that you can be notified when I begin a conversation with a new topic. Likewise, you can be notified when someone contributes to the conversation. If you have an idea for us to go over then let me know and I’ll do my best.
I’m looking forward to getting to know you better. I’m looking forward to seeing you have more fun and more streamlined life. Just a little know-how, a little motivation, and a relationship is all you need.
Thanks for coming.

So you like these tools, tips, and tutorials and think it would really benefit your small business? I'll come to your place and help you share the philosophies and tools that help us use new technology to our advantage.
